Eddie's first blog entry!

We’ve gotten off to a great start this year. Thanks everyone, for your support, and for your continual prayers. What’s been remarkable for me this year is that we’re currently in Texas, where I spent 4 years studying in seminary. This is the first time I’ve been back since I graduated, and it brings back many memories. The moment we crossed the border from New Mexico into Texas, we were greeted with a genuine Texas thunderstorm. We’re currently staying with EFC Nasa, and will be doing a program for EFC Houston tomorrow morning. Everyone’s been so friendly and hospitable - the pastors, deacons, youth advisors. We’ve yet to taste some Texas beef - but will have the opportunity a few days later on our “off” day. I miss my family, but I’m so happy to be traveling with a group of truly wonderful brothers and sisters - half of whom was on the MM team from last year. Please continue to pray for safety as we travel, and that we would be a blessing to all the churches we travel to. God bless you all!

my story

Eddie was born in Taiwan, and immigrated to the U.S. when he was 6 years old with his family. He grew up in the S.F. Bay Area, and accepted Christ at a Jr. High retreat. He experienced some "high school rebelliousness", then recommitted his life to the Lord in college. After graduating from college, Eddie worked in Silicon Valley for a little bit before going to seminary. Eddie met his wife, Chloe at a church retreat - 2 years later, they were married - and 2 years after that, their son, Jedidiah (the Jedi) was born. Eddie has been a pastor with EFC for the past 7 years.

He's a night owl, so he stays up late and tends to be grumpy in the morning - so watch out, MM Team, until he gets his coffee. Eddie likes cars, that's why he still drives the turbocharged 88 Thunderbird he's had since college, and races his riced-up 98 Mitsubishi Eclipse on Mondays(his day off). He would have an automobile collection like Jay Leno if he was able, but would have to settle with his extensive Hot Wheels collection.

i confess...

  • I've frozen up on stage.
  • I've cracked my voice when singing.
  • I've run away from home.
  • I open up to others easily.
  • I don't read my Bible everyday.
  • There are times when I tune out from God.
  • I've hugged a stranger.
  • I've cried in public.
  • I believe in true love.
  • I've fallen asleep during sermons.
  • I forget to pray before I eat.
  • Sometimes I choose other things over quiet times.
  • I peek during prayer sometimes.
  • I've tripped on stage.
